Mlanda Primary School educates 1,800 children in 8 Form groups with 12 teachers. Class sizes range from 60-200 pupils, in simple classrooms. The children sit on the floor, taught with a simple blackboard and desks only in the classrooms for the older classes.

Sustain Mlanda knows that the Primary School is the best facility through which to reach and care for the children of Mlanda. At the school, along side their education the health and welfare of the children can be monitored.
The school’s key aims are:

- Promoting AIDS awareness in education
- Providing sporting opportunities for boys and girls in football and netball.

- Cemented, plastered and redecorated all 12 classrooms at the Primary School in 2007.
- Re-painted every blackboard at the school, every year for 5 years
- Provided the school with stationary for the past 5 years
