Mlanda has a small medical center which is funded by a central hospital called Nkhoma which is 2 hours away, and Nkhoma provides the medical center with staff wages and medicine but there is no provision for maintenance, equipment, bedding and other services.

The Medical Center has five main wards, including a Children’s ward and Maternity Ward. There is also an HIV out reach center, outpatients department and several side rooms.

A committed staff team is led by two medical in-charges; Matthews Matandikwa and Victor Maude.

Beyond caring for the sick and injured, the health center primarily deals with maternity, under 5 clinics and HIV testing.
