Mlanda is an impoverished area of rural Eastern Malawi, lying on the Malawi-Mozambique border two hours south of the capital of Lilongwe. A high HIV rate and poor harvests for substinace farmers have created major difficulties for this beautiful and joyful community.
Sustain Mlanda aims as a charity to support the community of Mlanda, Malawi. Operational since 2005, we have helped hundreds of people in this deeply impoverished area through community based projects.

Orphan feeding at Church
We work in the community through elders and existing staff at the medical center, church and schools who know the people and area far greater than we do. Together we plan, design and implement projects which will assist the most vulnerable and have the greatest, positive impact on the livelihoods of those in this area of Malawi.
Alongside these projects we support individuals in times of crisis and those with special educational needs.
